called dealer on tuesday told him i would pick up my 07 heritage on thursday he called me back saying there was a recall he did not no what recall was about other then parts would be shiped monday and that they could not release bike anyone else have any info i believe he said recall was on all softails
Havent heard anything about a new recall, there was a earlier recall months ago, wonder if its the same one. I will have to check out the HD site on line it would show up there.
Its correct. They have parts being shipped now to dealers, and letters soon to follow for immediate repair to customers. My local dealer told me they were notified today ,and told me they are not releasing any softails off the floor till they have corrected/replaced the positive cable.
Guess the 'powers that be' finally got their act together.
I mean we've known about the problem, what caused it, and how toprevent it for months now.
Guess I'll be calling the dealer in the morning to see how its going to go.
I'll take the rubber bumpers I stuffed in there out when I know its going in.
But till then I'll just leave them where they are.
Axeman,
Did they give you a delivery/pickup date yet? Or are they stillwaiting to see when the truck actually drops it off?
Citori,
I was told to call back on Friday for the VIN so I could get the insurance stuff out of the way, because the bike should be "invoiced" by then. She said I should have it this time next week. No solid date though. Generally a four day transit.
thanks for info guys. when i talked with dealer he did not no what recall was about at that time i am new to the forum. the info that you get is great. I orderd the bike back in march and was all fired up to pick it up thursday
OK, I'm stumped. I 'used' to know where on the HD web site where you could look up recall notices on your bike.
But I'll be dipped if I can find it now.
Somebody wanna help a lost soul out. Gimme a hint where it is.
Axeman,
I may not be able to go with you to pick it up. My father in law (he's 93) had to go into the hospital and now they say he can't be on his own anymore. So for the next few weekends I'll be playing movingman clearing out his house, selling it andmoving him into ours.
But let me know when you are getting it and if I'm free I'll be there. Dying to see what a black FB looks like up close. You might even make me jealous, but I doubt it.
