Default drop-in 6 speed conversions?

Who has done it? What brand? How much did it cost you to have it done? I have a 2004 Heritage and it REALLY needs another gear.

I watched a friend of mine who is a tech at the Harley shop, install a 6 speed gear cluster (HD) and its a no going back mod. You would not believe how much of the transmission case has to be ground away, the trans case was full of shavings. I personally would go with an aftermarket trans and sell the old one.

Well i read the install instructions on the BakerDD6 and it does mention the possibility of light grinding. They "say" it should fit without any grinding but you may have to.

Did you do it yourself or have dealer/shop do it?

Had my dealer do it. Slow time of year and got 20% off parts and labor. I also bought a Jims 103 under the same deal.

Does anyone know if a 6 speed setup will work with a hydraulic clutch?

It will cost you $1995 for the gear set, $199 for the side cover and $500 labor to install. This is if you pay full price. I got my gear set for $1500 and the side cover for $149. Sold my 5 speed gear set for $200 and the side cover for $40 so that dropped it down another $250. It cost me after all was said and done around $1900
