done very little checking at this point, still out riding and stopped at the library.
I noticed first my security key light is on while i'm riding. if I stop and start the bike it goes out for a bit, depending on how long the bike is off, but it eventually comes back on and stays 'til I turn the bike off again. doesn't seem to affect the bike running.
about 30 minutes later I noticed my right turn signal doesn't work. I just have a single light on each side, on the handlebar ends. the only bit of trouble shooting I did was swap the bulbs, but the problem stayed on the right. the console indicator for the right side isn't working either.
I don't know how or even if the two things are connected. they just happened so close together I have to wonder (they may have happened at the same time and I didn't notice I didn't have a signal 'til later). i'll be chasing the turn signal first, since i'm thinking the constant turning the grip on the throttle side worked something loose, but after that i'll be at a loss.
i pinched the turn signal wires working on something else this morning, and I guess it took that long into the ride to damage the wire. once I got home and could start tracing the wire I saw it pretty quick. just unclamping it got it working again, but I guess i'll need to get into the insulation and do some splicing to make sure all is good.
my own fault, but glad it wasn't something worse to have me banging my head against a wall.
