I got black round mirrors from Drag Specialties to complete the vintage look. They come with their own nuts etc so they should fit yours.

I know Harley is all imperial but thinking I could tap it to the right size.
Paul. Once you take the mirrors off, the only thing remaining is a hole (no threads.)

You can use almost any mirror with a threaded stalk so long as it is long enough to pass through the brake and clutch lever support.

That said, I bought two of these from Amazon. I figure that I can try them for $40. If they don't last, I can then invest in the $200 mirrors that most of the specialty builders sell.

It's the on my dealer had on their pegboard accessory rack. Simple chrome cap with two grooves around the edge.

Edit. This one.

Flush caps are too modern day for this bike in my opinion.

I agree 100 percent. That's why I painted the current cap and gas gauge. IMHO this bike should not have any modern accessories to ruin it's vintage look. That's why I've added small details like the round mirrors, plain round air cleaner that I added military stencil script, round horn cover, etc to push the vintage look. I was never one to buy everything to customize the bike, nothing feels better than creating your own special stuff that can't be bought over the counter. Many of these touches are actually much cheaper than buying stuff and much more custom. One thing I do modernize it safety items. Yes I put CD lED lights on the bike for safety but hid them behind smoked covers so they are not easily noticed when the bike is parked.

Haven't had a chance to do anything this week with her. Some parts I ordered turned out to be the wrong fitment. I did take some photos of her. Hoping to score some new badges this weekend, we'll see.

Thinking of taking her to an industrial park along with some friends trailing me and my photography equipment tomorrow afternoon. We'll see...or I may travel up to Blue Ridge again.

Edit: I take that back. I did put a gremlin catcher on her this afternoon... not shown here.

Edit2: Has anyone tried putting these on their Special? http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...ber-hand-grips.

Not bad GunnySgt! I don't see Left/Right designation can you just flip the mirror on the stem?
