By "gen 2", do you mean the 6 bulb 5 3/4" Day Maker? If so, it's been out way over a year.

Yeah HD shows a 6 bulb unit on their website too.

Holy crap! $312 just for the bucket? I went on eBay and bought a $70 -7" chrome bucket that came with all the necessary parts to mount it on the Breakout. The EVO II headlight fit right in - no adapters needed, and I snaked the original wiring into it without any problems (including the extra wire for my HD garage door opener.) This bucket looks like it came on the bike!

I think he's referring to Speaker's EVO II from their website. There's no reason to get HD's when you can buy the Speaker EVO II and an excellent bucket for it for less than HD wants for any of their Daymakers, and the EVO II is one generation newer than HD's offerings (gotta use up that old stock, ya know.)

And not sure if you know, but JW Speaker is the company that designed and built the Daymaker light for HD....Not absolutely sure they still do, but you are right, the next generation Speaker headlight has better spec's and you can pick them up all day on Amazon for around $275 delivered with no tax. Hard to beat.

Yes, & Yes, and the 7" EVO 2 was $325 back in March when I bought mine.

Thanks - it's much longer than the stock lamp bucket. I had a great bullet lamp on my old bike which I was going to swipe before I sold it and fit to the BO but I decided it wouldn't look right IMO as its more chopper than drag style.

Had a similar, maybe even the same, bullet bucket on my BO (with a long bracket, maybe too long) before chosing the "billet bullet". Honestly I think it would look great on your bike, take a look on it properly installed on EagleRay's bike...you might change your mind.

Yeah you're right it looks great. I also fancied a change as I'd been sitting behind that light for 6 years as it was on my last two bikes. If I got another it would be the squared off version billet shell. I've got a black grill to fit which I'm hoping will look mean.
