Default Fuel Pack problems

Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum actually signed up about 5minutes ago lol.I have been riding for about 4 years now (had a Harley for 2). I am a proud owner of a 2006 FXSTBI. Now that's out the way my night train is basically stock besides the stage 1 high flow air cleaner and the look nice but no performance V&H short shots staggered. Also I believe the ecu was flashed for stage 1 because the rev limiter kicks in at around 6200 rpms. Now my issue is the dreadful Fuel pack by V&H. I have tried two different code set ups one for stage 1 ecu and 1 for stock. The stage 1 in my opinion runs better that the stock, but they both give me similar issues. One issue being take off in 1st sometimes it feels like the bike wants to just stall even in between sifts at times. The second issue under 25 mph and you lay into that throttle to pick up some quick speed the bike hesitates before taking off. I am Basically looking to see if anybody has had similar issue and could offer not only just advice but maybe some codes that have worked for you. I Hope I am not asking to much. Any input would be great and I do plan on having the train tuned with a tuner and dyno with a D&D low cat exhaust but just not in the budget right now.

I have an '05 FXSTBI. Just asked about tuners in the tech forum. Was wondering about the open-loop MAPs on PowerVision and how good they are. Closing the loop with the PowerVision Auto-tune with wide-band O2 sensors and a new exhaust with 18mm bungs is, as you say, not in my budget right now. No input, but interested in the responses you get.

There are several really good turner now VS back in 07... that auto tune...

Here is a link that will help you with your FP.. Lot of links to click on so you can learn a lot more.

LOOK at the 3rd link on this page below..

They won't autotune unless you close the loop with O2 sensors. I don't believe the '06 twin cam has them.

Before you make any other changes do not forget that there was a TSB for the fuel injectors back in 2006. It is TSB M-1185. I have attached it for you to download. We built our maps assuming this was completed. Without the upgraded injectors, you will be chasing your tail.

I bought a Fuel Pack for my 2006 Heritage Classic and wasn't at all impressed with it. The bike didn't run any better with it and popping on decel was as bad as without it. Ended up getting a Power Commander III and difference was night and day. That said, I bought an 05 FXSTI a few years ago and thought I would install it on that bike. I don't know what the difference is between the 05's and 06's is, but that 05 runs like a bat outta hell now with the FP. Go figure

I have the FP-1 on my 09 Heritage and have been very happy with it and haven't touched it since it was installed a couple of years ago.
I have quick response, better mpg, no decel pop and cooler running.

Perhaps the FP is defective or there's something else going on.

BTW- I have the FP setup for the Stage 1 ECM load.

I have an '06 Fatboy with a FuelPak, SE Long Shots, and an SE A/C. It wasn't running great when I bought it, I emailed V&H and they sent me a different map; runs really well now. Check the injectors as V&H suggested, if OK talk with V&H again; they're pretty helpful IMO.
