After I figure out where I want the tank I am going to make the mounts and then run them through the PVD coating dept at work. Guess I am lucky that I have access to cnc equipment, a laser engraving machine, cvd and DVD coating
No ****!
And to know how to expertly run all that equipment, even better...
I am quitting my job at the end of this year and embarking on a "new quest for happiness and abundance." During the course of that journey, two of the things on my bucket list are to learn the welding and machining trades.
What rear fender is that? Stock? Also, it looks great! I'm getting ready to transform the crossbones.
That is a Fatboy fender. Chopped it on both ends, changed the radius for the wheel openings, welded up the strut bolt holes and relocated them for a better fit.
I see you found a matching front wheel for your bones, send me some pics when you are done

I will post once it's finished....still gathering parts. Lol.
I'm trying to figure out how much over I'd have to go with 12inch apes on my fatboy lo
Lots of things determine cable length, there is no magic answer. Bar height, width, how you route the cables makes a big difference, riser height....
I mounted the bars and used an old extension cord to help me find the cable lengths because I didn't want sloppy cables. The first time I did a bar swap I used a "kit" and the cables were a mile too long, looked like hammered @$$ in my opinion.
If you mount the bars and measure you will get the best result. Check measurments with the bars full left and full right, not just straight forward. That being said....bet +4" clutch and +6" idle/throttle would be a good generic fit but don't quote me haha. I have put a few narrow 10" bars on Softail with stock cables and only changed the brake line.
I did 3 1/2 risers and 8 inch mini apes on my SG, and went with 2 inches over stock on all the cables. just not sure how long the cable are on my lo. I wouldn't do anything over a 12 inch bar and I guess even with a set of 1 inch risers. have a frozen shoulder so my right arm won't go straight up. still up in the air about it. but thanks for the info
