Rode about an hour and a quarter each way today all on the highway and still no tailbone pain. I also loved the backrest. Friday will be the test, 3 and a half hours to Daytona and back on the same day.

Great input, Lauren. I am sitting here after 3 hours in the saddle and no lower back pain. The Ultimate is working for me.
I received the matching passenger seat for the Ultimate backrest seat today. I am happy to report that the fitment for this item is perfect, and in fact installation of both rider and passenger seat is much much easier than was the case when installing the Ultimate rider seat and the leather bib. They install just like the OEM seats. This is because the front installation bolts do not have to protrude through the thickness of the leather of the bib.
Incidentally my Fatboy has the stock luggage rack, and there was no problem having the luggage rack and the Ultimate rear seat.
Have to say that the Ultimate setup is a lot nicer than the stock seat, for all that I do think that the stock seat is not at all bad. However, the quality in the Ultimate seat setup is very evident and the backrest makes the comfort incomparable.
wow, i've never had any trouble installing a seat from Ultimate. All 3 of the seats i've had went right on. i take mine off and back on while cleaning the bike with no issues ever. I've done a 763 mile ride in 12 hours on my first seat with no issues, no back aches or anything. i guess to each his own
3 years on the Ultimate here. I like it so much on the Heritage that when the new nose design came out I sold the original with the square nose and purchased the updated seat. It is hard to put on at first but that will get easier and it is the most comfortable seat I've ever ridden on and I've had a few. Great choice

I decided to get the Ultimate passenger's seat that matches my Ultimate backrest rider's seat. When you use the matching seat, the fitment is perfect and much easier to do than if you use the rider's seat alone with the leather bib. I am very happy with this setup. Some pics.
