Thanks for being concerned about me going through a divorce man. And I am not really taking a huge financial hit, she's only taking 15K out of my life savings and I get to keep my full pension.
I got my Harley to celebrate my divorce.... and I'm jealous.... I lost 40% of my pension!
Thanks for being concerned about me going through a divorce man. I don't know how some people make it through 2 or 2 of these things. I am barely making it day to day emotionally. And I am not really taking a huge financial hit, she's only taking 15K out of my life savings and I get to keep my full pension.
I could not go through another divorce, I'm barely making it through this one.
Anyway, the pipes should be sweet. I've seen them on baggers never really on softails. I'm looking forward to seeing them.
it just takes time and don't worry yourself to death on trying to figure things out. it will get better. focus you thought on other things that make you happy
Yes, I got them probably 3 weeks ago or so. There was a slight miscommunication about what I wanted him to build for me. I wanted the front pipe to come back ON TOP of the rear pipe. As you can see in the picture that didn't happen. But, I am glad he did them this way because if I would have gotten them built the way I wanted them I think that top pipe would have been too close to my right leg AND I might have had some problems clearing the air cleaner.
As far as the product goes, they are good. I mean, not sure how much there could be to complain about as long as the fitment is good. They fit well on the bike and the accents on the tips are pretty damn sweet.
The one thing I have to say I was blown away is the sound. They sound freaking awesome !!!! Loud (partly because they face outwards instead of down towards the ground) and they have a low rumble to them. In other words it's loud without being high pitched (hope that makes sense).
I had him build them with O2 sensors and baffles. My old Vance and Hines had Big City Thunder Monster baffles in them, I loved the low rumble they had and I was afraid I was going to loose it once I switched to these. NOT THE CASE, these have just as good of a low rumble as the old ones.
Overall I am happy with the purchase. Tyler was quick to communicate with me about the mishap in the design so that took some of the aggravation away. He offered for me to send them back to him if I wasn't happy. I was happy with them so I kept them.
Thank you for the love fellers!!! I am really happy with the look of them and the sound. The bike seems to pull a little harder but that is probably my head playing games with me.
Now I'm tossing around the idea of moving forward with mounting the mid controls or not.
The exhaust side will be easy to do, all I have to do is get a new rear brake line and figure out how the hell mounting the brake light switch I already purchased works. It's essentially a banjo bolt with two wire leads coming out of it. I'm just not too confident on how to install it where the stock brake light switch is.
On the primary side I am going to have to tare off the stock primary covers and replace them with the dyna primary covers I already have which have the opening for mid controls. As we all know, that entails removing the clutch basket and the compensator nut as well as having to fight with those starter bolts (unless I take off the oil tank). I'm not too excited about having to do all that.
So I am just going to let the thought marinate for a while.
Merry Christmas boys. Hope Santa is good to you all this year.
