Those of you following my thread with the ape installation know the wife paid the 7 hour labor and said Merry Xmas, old man, you cant see anymore. I was like, wow, thank you mama.
I picked it up and you know how it goes, check the clutch play at the grip, 1/16" cool. Less than a 1/4" at the throttle grip, cool. Bars adjusted correctly for my reach, cool.
After this weekend's run I see there is no boot at the cable adjustment. I'm like, wtf? Call em up and the response is it's chrome plated and doesn't require a boot > lmfao
Okay, feel like someone just blew smoke up my butt. Not a prob, put it on myself.
Your input?
Yup, my cable is the HD Diamondback cable and the adjuster cover is chrome plated and slides over the adjuster. That's much nicer than a black rubber boot.
Here's mine

Bones, I see what you're saying, same cables. Preference thing I guess, think I prefer it with the boot. Now that I have a close up of it, I'm wonder how the chrome cover pops off for adjustment.

Definitely a preference issue. Just slide the chrome cover up (over the braided portion of the cable) to expose the adjuster.
Just did my bars, my Burly cable kit didn't come with a boot on the new clutch cable, even though it is chrome plated, i still used my boot off my stock cable, though i think it would've been fine without it.
I appreciate the input, thnx to Bones and the rest. I do prefer the boot and most importantly I do NOT thnk of it as an issue...lol
Edit: clean up my typos

I'd be interested in seeing a pic of how that cable adjusts.
