Default Easy: 5 gal tank, Warn light/ range are VERY accurate.

Softail Slim has a 5.0 gal tank.

The range on the odometer, and amber light appear dead on accurate every time I check.

I check milage every fill up. I get over 40 mpg on the Highway, but most of my riding is in the Mountains and @ Town, 35 MPG consistently. (Stage 1 and V&H tune).

If the light illuminates and I check range and it shows 30 miles to empty, and I stop and fill up immediately, I should be able to fit 4.1 or 4.2 gallons back in, and that is exactly what happens.

Several times I rode the bike until range said 17 miles to empty, and filled the tank with exactly 4.5 gal. At @ 35 MPG, that range showed I had 1/2 gal remaining in the tank. The HD fuel injection computer appears INCREDIBLY accurate as far as range and fuel remaining in tank is concerned.

I think the book says the light will illuminate with 30 miles to empty, too lazy to check right now:-)

Just checked the owners manual:

Amber light illuminates with 1 gal remaining.

When down to 10 mile range, LO RNG is displayed in the odometer window.

I remember checking this "LO RNG" on my bike, and this feature works.
