Default rear tire alignment

Hey guys I recently mounted new tires on bike, 1994 flstc. I have noticed, since it is finally warm, that i can not ride hands free. The bike tends to steer slightly to the left. I aligned the rear using gage, measuring distance to the pivot of swing arm. Could a small misalignment cause the bike to not run straight. Again it is very slight, I can lean and my body weight will cause it to run straight.
Thanks to all with suggestions.
