Smile V&H or ThunderHeaders

I am the very proud owner of a new Black FLSS and I love it, but it's not loud enough. I have narrowed it down to a V&H Pro Pipe 2:1 and FP3 or 2:1. I'm also curious about the optional competition and quiet baffles for the V&H because I don't want it too loud. Any opinions and experiences would be greatly appreciated.

IMO, those are the last two pipes I would ever put on my bike. From a quality standpoint, they are severely lacking. The common concensus for good sounding and good power making 2-1 big name systems are D&D and Bassani. There are other smaller name pipes from places like Dragos, Fuel Moto, RB Racing and alike that make great pipes too.

The V&H Pro Pipe works really well and quality is very good, we use them widely here. Most users prefer the standard baffle which performs well on stock (or lightly modified) motors, it also provides good sound at a reasonable sound level. The standard baffle is a chambered design which can actually be modified for more sound & flow, to do so you will remove the baffle from the muffler assembly with the 3 retaining screws, on the end of the baffle you will remove the cap which has several stich welds. You can grind off the welds and this will make the baffle very similar to the competition baffle. We do this modification when we use the Pro Pipe in our FM 107 builds. For those looking for quieter they do offer a quiet baffle however it it quite restrictive.

What has your experience been with this V&H pipe and tune vs. no tune?
