Squeaking drive belt

95 FXSTC, 35,000. rear belt is squeaking to beat the band. on deceleration in gear with load on. if I disengage the clutch the noise stops. also a chirp while under acceleration. All is alighned correctly, tire, belt, swingarm. also proper belt tension.

?????????/

soap it down with bar soap...and make sure it really isny your primary chain...

Here's a home remedy I picked up on this forum. It works, and can't harm anything. Buy a block of paraffin (available with the canning goods at the grocery store) and drag it along the edges of the belt.

Recheck the belt tension. Your symptoms are exactly what happens with a loose belt. You do have a belt tensioner tool right?

Yea I have been around and around with this for weeks, realigning and retentioning, everything is right on. I'm going to try cleaning the belt and using the wax idea. That really sounds like the best solution, and one I haven't tried yet.
