hi
i just bought a 2015 breakout and i want to install V&H short shots exhaust on it, V&H website shows different part number for different models but not for the breakout.
i know ppl are installing them on 2015 and 2014 breakouts ,
my question is which part number i need to order that will fit my breakout and do i need any extra parts or work to make sure they fit well .

I ran into the same problem with my 2015 Breakout. (I believe the fitment issue is with the passenger pegs but I could be wrong.) One would think they aftermarket would jump on the bandwagon cause imho they are missing out on $ales. I bought a Freedom exhaust after searching V&H for pipes other than what every Breakout owner has. I wanted to be different but it seems they only list 1 style for Breakouts. WTF?
I will also not be buying a FP3 either. I am going with Dynovision.

When it comes to alot of things, including exhaust, if it fits the Rocker it will fit the Breakout. Many regular Softail items work even if they say they don't fit, especially after you change the stock exhaust.

If that is the case and after 3 years why the hell don't they update the fitment info. Someone is NOT doing their job.
My guess is it probably has to do with the different O2 sensor sizes used, pre 2012 I believe. The plus side is if you are going to use a wide band O2 tuner you will have the 18mm bungs already installed with the "incompatible" pipes. It maybe as simple as a bung adapter to get the pipes up and running if not using a tuner like that.
I looked at Bassani and D&D and I know SuperTrapp makes exhausts for wide tire configurations. Others are Arlen Ness/Magnaflow and possibly Patriot Defender.
fj1200, I called pariot defender and they said that they currently do not have a pipe for the breakout, but they are working on it. I wish that we had more choices, because I really do not like the V&H big radius that are on my bike.

Thanks for the mention!
We do have a system similar to the V/H short shots that will fit any softail but the rocker. Like all of our systems, it is full stainless and made here in the USA. If you wanted to check it out, the black powder-coat finish is part 7212404 and chrome finish is 7212301. We'd be happy to answer any fitment questions you may have, so please feel free to drop us a call or PM!
