Nah, I read it and wasn't clear.... I hope to lower it over the weekend. I'll try to document and I'll for sure have pictures to post.. I'll be using the rocker method.
1st year Bad Boy. Great bike man. Congrats. Good choice on lowering her w/ rockers. So no loss in suspension travel. Should sit real nice w/ *** end dropped. Back tire... If your doing 18 inch rim, you could run like 130/70/18. 140 is gonna be tight on the stock 16 or bigger 18. Try like 140/80... I recall doing some 140 Metzlers that cleared. But man, I once even had mt90/16 AVON Venom rub my belt, on heavily modded FXSTSB. Also, If your looking for premium after market ALL USA made parts for your Springer, the shop I work at has a few guys who love Springers. We offer stuff like PM, RSD, RC Comp, SS, and so on @ great prices, free ship. If you need a question on brand/part/tire just PM me. We have owned 4 or 5 Springers over the years. Happy to help/give opinion cuz I love Bad Boys. I will not give prices or even advertise the store on the forum or thread do to MAP Policy & Forum Policy...
Now the fun stuff, what did you plan on doing when you get into the engine? Nice base build as you said would be great. So much can be done using stock 1340 as jumping off point. IMHO, I would look @ the following options....
Good ole Andrews EV27 with compression bump to around 9:5, wake her up.
You could do up the ole fashion SS 88 or 96 kit (case boring required)
Revolution Perf makes a real interesting kit. It's 85" kit. No case boring. Bolt on. The kit has Weisco Pistons set at 10:5 and 85 in juggs. Choose good cam, 2 into 1, SS E, or Mikuni 42 Carb and MANY ppl are getting like mid 90's HP and TQ. Drag Specialties and one of the Bagger Mags had a good write up on it.
Good luck w/ your new ride man.

LOL, last night was my first day back, but I had been up for 48 hours, so running on coffee. always hard to sleep first night back home.
I'm in the middle of replacing my neck bearings and races, along with a new headlight shell. I bought the stock 2007 springer bucket and took it to the powder coat place in town. All that plus a daymaker headlight!
