Default FXSTB Help...

I just picked up a 95 Bad Boy. I am going to drop it an inch and Im looking for direction on how best to lower the springer? I am going to go through the bike and get to know it before I get nuts but I will definitely be doing the motor in the fall. I need some opinions to base builds on. I had a 2000 softail and did it up but always wanted this springer...

Those that know me...being single aint so bad!

I have a few cosmetic things I'll be doing pretty quick and I'll also be striping some of the bags and... well whatever which will be offered here for sale.

Oh and where is the best place to buy HD parts these days? Ive been out of touch for a couple years, riding but not able to make any purchases. I had a friend who worked at a dealer but no more..

Here we go...

You can get lowering rockers...easy to install...no loss in suspension travel ...expensive.

Rake kit ...again no loss in travel...kicks the front out a bit if you like the look...cheaper than rockers...quite a job to install.

Lowering springs...cheapest option...not too hard to install...reduce travel...everyone I know that has installed them took them back off...killed the ride.

I saw the rockers but was hoping for something inexpensive and magical, I'll probably go that route. Experience tells me I'd end up there anyway!

Thanks for the info!

if you're looking for OE parts try www.surdyke.com or www.stcharlesharleydavidson.com for best prices.

Go to ronnies harley davidson parts finder and that is the best place to look up microfiche parts / part numbers for your specific bike. http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.....asp?make=hdmc

Good luck with the mods and build.

Default Rear tire without changing sproket

Apparently 140's are obsolete? The tire guy is telling me to run a 18 x 140/70 reinforced front on the rear. I dont want to change the rear sprocket or at least I dont want to right now... anybody know what the max width is that will fit? I might forego the wheels altogether now but Im hooked on a set of spokes I'd like to get..
