Default Crank case drain plug

I never knew there was one. Pulled it out and quite a bit of oil came out. Simple to get at, once done I wrapped it with Teflon tape and called it a day. It is probably show in the owners manual but I wanted to put it out there that it existed.

I'm sure that's what the manual says - also, many posts on the forum advising NOT to touch that plug.

Well I guess diss regard this post cause I don't want anyone's bike to break. Just read up on the plug. It is not supposed to be removed cause it is a tapered plug which in some cases people over tighten it and crack their case. It does not hurt anything to drain that area as long as you use sealant and do not over tighten it. I am sure there are some out there that think every bolt needs to be cranked down with a breaker bar while having an arm wrestling contest but all things considered I didn't leak after and I didn't crack the case cause it is obvious that it was never intended to be torqued down since it does not have a shoulder on it. I am sure there are people who have damaged their case tightening that plug down.

It is not merely a risk of over tightening.
