Default RECALL

Came in the mail today(Sat, May 12).
It applies to all Softails built since June 8, 2006 until March 14, 2007.
To Summarize, A weld bead in the Oil tank can rub through the insulation on the positive battery cable and cause a short with potentially catastrophic results. The Moco will install a "battery caddy" to route and protect the cable.

Also received mine for my 07' FXST, which is in the shop with a gone bad ECM...reckon they got time to fix the recall since my new ECM is going to take 6 weeks to come in...it's killing me not to ride in May

Where do you find your built date on your bike or is it somewhere on the title

You could just look up the serial number, there is a date (not exactly build date) coded into it.
But the best way to find out if your bike is subject to the recall is to either go to the HD web site and under "Maintenance & Service" you can plug your Vin # and it will tell you if there is a recall on it (not always accurate). Or just call the dealer where you picked it up and they will have your Vin # on file and it will show them if it needs to be done.

I had mine done yesterday (Sunday). It took about 20 mins. Wasn't this the same problem that went around the forum a few months ago and related to oil line fires? Seems a few guys wrote about this happening on brand new 07 bikes. I saw some pics that were posted of a burned out oil line. Pretty ugly looking.
