Mine are the Baloney Cut P/N 27514 - Baloney Cut / MSRP - $379.95

You can choose between 1.75", 2" or 2.25" baffles. Revzilla is the best price that I found.

Default Vance & Hines slip on

Just purchased military softail. Installed VH slip ons. Not crazy with sound. Had rush slip ons installed on my streetglide and really liked the low rumble. Ordered quiet baffles. Any advise?

I'm another happy Rush slip-ons owner.
Currently buying the 2.25" baffles, after having the 1.75".
Bought bigger baffles to suit the engine mods.

Initial cost of pipes was ludicrously cheap for me here in Australia.
They had straight ends initially, part of a sell off.
Covered the chrome with a pair of black Screamin' Eagle heat shields.

Stock bikes sound just fine with the 2" baffle, a little louder/deeper than the 1.75".

There is a well known Dyno tuner on another forum who said he has found that Rush slip on mufflers with the 2 inch baffles make as much power as anything he has tested on Softails and Dyna's. Better than the 2into1 systems. He said he was surprised at how well they worked.

I mean the slim rear wheel is really slim ....And it push me to have something on both sides like bag on one side, exhaust on other side.I just think that short pipes like Fireweeps,Short Shots, etc looks best with fat rear tire. But maybe its just my confusion, because my last 2 bikes had 260 rear tire .....
I have shorter pipes and the right side looks fine. I like the look of the skinny wheel.

I was looking at the V&H slip ons.

what do you mean "Not crazy with sound"

was it the volume or the quality of the sound.

I like the over under shotgun look but like many i want my S to have a louder voice so reading this thread with interest.

I am new to HD so its bemusing the number of different styles and sounds.
I prefer the deeper rumble and want black and would like to get something along the same lines as the stocks.

Anyone tried removing the stock baffle and running without them. I am told this robs the bike of power but i cant see why when most aftermarket pies the short shots and big shots dont have a baffle at all by the looks of them.

I like the bike stock so basically only exhaust is now on the list for mods.

My big dilemma, i like all 3 solutions below, money is not issue...

1. Rush Slip on with 2" baffles - it keeps look of stock exhaust and gives me sound i want.

2. Bassani Pro Street turns out exhaust - prefer look of these Bassani pipes over VH straight shots, although i see lot of straight shots on Slim around here but just don't like the slash down cut and they look to me too short...

3. VH Big Shot Staggered - only think i don't like is the chrome logo and chrome end caps and looks like VH does not make black end caps so i would have to repaint ends.

I would like to see your opinion and comments what would be best to keep the retro bobber style of Slim S. I made big research here and check all pictures but i am still confused which system is best for me. Also if anyone can give me input on sound comparison of the 3 systems above. Attached pictures - i use pictures from this forum so probably someones bike..sorry for that....
I'm leaning towards the Rush slip-ons since they look the closest to stock. Now what I can't decide on is the 1.75" or 2" baffles.
