Trying to decide between the 636v intake system black with round air filter or the 587 cyclone air cleaner. Would run breather bolts on either. Runing a hypercharger right now so leg room is gonna be increased no matter which one I choose. Also gonna add 2 inch tank lift and verticle axle mount licence plate mount with bolt light. Like the look of the forward facing intakes and the breather bolt system for venting. I'm an auto mechanic and a pcv system is the worst thing for clean running engines. Makes all kinds of carbon deposits. So what do u guys think?
Sounds like you are on the right path. I prefer the external breather filter system myself, but even the breather bolts would be good. I got the 636v system for a little comparison. Just has a screamin eagle cover on it.
I also have a DK 636 with an oversized K&N filter. As for breathers, I fabbed a hard line set up that runs to a vented Jazz mini catch can. Small section of rubber line attaches the hard line to the catch can to absorb vibration.
Fls that hard line kit is bad *** looking, after seeing yours thought about doin something like that.
Enforcer that cover looks mean.
I know I want 2 get a dk intake kit. Just worried with my height that my leg is gonna hit the filter. But I really want the forward facing intake. I have 2 inch forward ext and an 6'4. Don't have anyone that has one on a softail, I've ridden a fatbob with a screamin eagle heavy breather but the forwards aren't as far out.
No one has ever said their breather bolts leak oil out so can't see having any issues with em.

My breather bolts blew an oily/watery mist out on occasion. Not too bad but was noticable sometimes especially when I had been riding it hard. This is why I made the hard lines and ran them to a catch can. I am 6' 2" and do not have clearance issues with the legs and intake....but I have floorboards with extended brake and shifter, not forwards. The brake pedal is wide and easy to get to, i can see where the forwards would make you have to wrap your leg around the intake.
If you decide that you want a to run hard lines hit me up, I have enough material left to bend up a few more and would be glad to help out.

Bypasses crank case blow off which is routed into the intake and sends it into the atmosphere.
The idea is an EPA standard to reduce hydro corb s and their stituants from polluting the air we breath LOL
That crank case blow off that is relegated to flow into the intake would mix in with fresh air and gasoline needed to combust. What blows out of the crank case in hot gear oil and steam. You dont want that in your combustion chamber

Ahhhhh, makes sense. Looks like I'll be making another mod.

Everyone sits differently, but I don't see you having any issues with your leg hitting the 636v intake. It does not stick out to the side anywhere near as much as the stock A/C and forward of that, your leg should be well below it when your foot is on your peg or brake.
