Thanks Kevin. By keeping my oil level at about the one quarter mark just above the fill line, I can avoid having to empty or collect oil blow off. Moisture though, is another question.
How does the crank produce so much moisture I don't know... ?

Water is a byproduct of burning gasoline.

Ahh! Didn't know that... But there is no gasoline in the oil, is there. Yeah, it is all extracted from the same source. But oil and gasoline are manufactured differently.
So they're no the same, I thought.

I don't have a dk intake but I just installed the dk customs throttle body support plate and the cheaper relocated breather kit. Since installing the breather kit and getting the vacuum off the vents my bike pukes up much less oil.

Damn it I thought I knew what I wanted, now I gotta figure out what vent system I want, catch can or small filter, do I go with fls's hard lines or just roll the rubber lines. Next mod is the intake. Can't stand this hypercharger.

We have a pretty complete line of High Performance Intakes...see HERE

For decades everyone just made their own external breather kits, piecing stuff together from auto parts stores. We got asked so many times for kits we started making them/kitting them together in a turnkey package.

Really, the sky is the limit on what you can do. I've seen some really imaginative catch can set-ups over the years.

The Outlaw Breather Bolts are about the only thing you can't put together in your garage, & they are super clean looking, and are great if your bike does not spit much. But with the hose and filter or hose and catch can set-ups, anything is possible!

When gasoline is burned in the combustion chamber, one of the byproducts is water vapor. Most of this goes out the exhaust (you can see this water vapor as "steam" coming out the exhaust upon startup on a really cold day, just like you can see the water vapor in your breath on a cold day). A little of the water vapor, unburned gas etc. makes it past the rings into the crankcase, since the rings don't form a perfect seal. That's what's coming out the crankcase vent (along with varying amounts of oil mist, which is difficult to remove completely from the vented crankcase gases).

Many years ago, cars vented this through a "road draft tube", which stuck out the bottom of the car into the airstream, producing a slight vacuum when the car was moving. This tube always dripped some oil. Those were the days when there was always a solid dark line of dripped oil in the center of the lane, and why motorcycle riders back then were advised to never ride in the center of the lane.

These days, the EPA requires that this junk be routed back through the combustion chamber, where most of what's combustible will be burned (with the penalty of increased carbon buildup).

Never ran my hoses open 2 see how much oil came out. Mines 04 night train so it'll prob spit oil
Just have to figure out what line setup

Yeah. Now, the painted line tends to be the most slippery part of the road surface.
See how much emissions controls have benefited bikers?
