got a 87 heritage softail off a guy but he didn't know the exact year of the motor and it isn't running.
so i started looking around and couldn't find a damn thing on the numbers i got from the motor....
so above the peep hole for the flywheel i found
*DPLN505016*
after removing the peephole for more numbers i did not see any numbers on the flywheel at all!! WTF...
It has screamin eagle pistons if that makes any difference...
Just post a pic. If you just know the general year you will be fine. If it is an EVO there won't be much change from year to year that you would have to worry about. EVO's ran from 84 to 2000 and there wasn't much change.
the engine is definitely not the original but i need push rods, and some gaskets and the people at the counter always ask for the year and they say they need exact year... not sure why... evo's are evo's to an extent of course...
