Looking at a slim, wanting it in red. And looking to have the dealer put cruise on it. So far I've gotten prices for 15900 otd with cruise added.. Now if I want abs and cruise It kicks it up to 17300 otd. Cause the dealer has to drive six hrs to get it.. Where am I at on these prices? Good, decent or move on? I'm looking at this for my gf. I know nothing about the soft tails.. Any help is appreciated..
May as well just go for the Slim S.
Not only does it come standard with cruise and ABS, but also throttle by wire, hydraulic clutch, a security system, and a Screamin' Eagle 110 engine, for starters...
That doesn't make any sense. ABS is a $795 option, but if you get it the price jumps up $1,400?? If they're making you eat the cost of doing a dealer swap or something like that to find an ABS bike, that's a foul. I'd say $15,9xx out the door with cruise (if they're truly adding real cruise control like off the S) is s good deal, because I don't imagine that's cheap. That constitutes not only the parts and wiring to add the switch and such, but I've heard it's s different ECU.
$1,400 for ABS? I can answer that one for ya...either live without ABS or walk away! They are not the only show in town and they need to remember that.
X2. I've heard mixed reviews on the 110, but I would have waited on an S if I knew it was coming just for the cruise and the blacked out components.
Price-wise, the S is a better value given all the extras. It doesn't come in red though. A forum member bought a standard Slim and talked the dealer into swapping tins with an S, so I suppose it could go another way.
I initially heard mixed reviews about he 110, but after reading everything I could find, it was a problem with 07 and 08 models leaking at the cylinder base due to a poorly designed machine work for the SE cylinders. HD had a campaign and replaced them. Since then, I hadn't found anything negative about it. Mine seems to perform just fine.
Only things I've heard is that the 110 runs H-O-T and the compression is pretty low in an effort to control detonation/spark knock, which limits you on cam options and other performance mods.
