Default Ape hangers

Got an 07 fxstc...i like the bars already on it but i really like the look of ape hangers, i'm thinking of going with 14's, nothing too extreme. I'm 6'3' with a pretty good reach but want something that'll pull back a little more and allow me to get just a little more comfortable in the saddle without having to reach for the sky. anybody got any experience with 14" ape hangerson an fxstc? pics would be even better. just hate to put that much money into it without getting some info first.

See my sig pic for a picture of 13" apes on my Night Train which has a similar front end to your FXSTC (I even replaced the stock headlight with a stock Deuce/ST Custom headlight). Here's a couple more pics from different angles as well.

Cheers!

another great looking bike....those 16's look nice. looks like this'll be a harder decision than what i had first thought. any suggestions on the brand to go with, a lot of people seem to like the wild 1's from what i have read about.

Thanks!

I actually don't know the brand of the bars. When I was looking to go with the 13"ers, I had stock Wide Glide mini-apes on my bike, and I went through the various parts books at the dealer until I found a set that had more or less the same dimensions as the minis but with the 13" rise (they also have more pull back, which is good for me!). I do know they came from the Road Iron book and the part number is 87-110264. They're imported and only cost $110.00 Canadian. I bought the SS braided cables and brake line from M & M Cycles. They're Harley units and I got them 4" longer than stock for a Wide Glide. I would suggest you also get 4" longer than stock for your bike, you can find the part numbers on Harley's website. Since my bike came stock with drag bars, I had to get a 10" wiring extension for the handlebar switches. I got Harley units, but there are loads of aftermarket companies that make plug and play extension kits. I also replaced the stock grips with aftermarket HD ones. All totalled, the conversion cost me about 4 hundred dollars Canadian. I did the work myself. Oh, one other thing, I replaced my stock riser bushings with polturethane units. The stock ones allowed the bars to pivot a lot - about 4" back and forth. Once I put the poly bushings on, it's like the bars are welded to the top of the triple tree.

Cheers!
