Default Harley 72276-74 problem

I am in the process of rewiring my 1994 Heritage Softail. I am having a problem with the main harness connectors, 12 pin, p/n 72276-74. I have two wiring harnesses for this bike. One made by Bruce Linsday, which I have determined is correct for it however it has these different plugs on the main harness. The other I bought as part of a complete wiring kit from V-Twin. This main harness is not exact for my bike, however the plugs appear to be like the old original ones I pulled out.
The reason behind this problem is that the original plugs have 2 prongs on them: on the top, bottom and sides, which help locate the plugs and snap them into place in the frame snug. The new plugs fit directly in the hole, basically "floating" in place. I am not too sure at this point if it matters that much but I'm assuming if these plugs just sit in the frame without snapping in place, the vibrations from the engine and other things would cause problems. Here are a couple pics. My question is, should I spend the time to take the plugs off one and put in the other, or leave it? The harness is already in the bike. Thanks.

In the Evo section, texashillcountry currently has a thread going on this exact same topic.

If it were me, I'd go ahead and swap the plugs. You only have to do it once.

Then again, I'm a chronic worrier about stuff like this, so.....
