Hi guys, been on the site for a while and mostly read. I dont post alot because I use the site for learning. Been riding for many years, but in no way claim to know alot. My question is about cams. I've read countless threads on what peoples favorite cam is for " their bike ". So I have an 08 FXSTC. 96ci fuel injected. I have an Arlen Ness round Air cleaner on it, a VH fuel pak, (changing to the PC V) and VH Shortshots. It has good all around power, but I am a big guy. I am only 5' 10" but I weigh 280lbs. Sorta like riding 2 up all the time. Im not looking for 150 mph top speed, but i am looking for a strong low end, and lots of roll on power for the twisty roads I ride in N.E.P.A. Can anyone recommend a really good cam for what I am describing. Like I said, I already know the FuelPak is gonna get changed. Hopefully someone that had the exact issue I am talking about?? And keep in mind I do ride 2 up, but luckily my GF is only about 120lbs. Thanks in advance guys.
Quite a few good cams out there for a 96" and you will get lots of answers. My vote is for either Andrews 48 or Screamin Eagle 255, a good 2 into 1 exhaust, a power vision and a good tune. Those short pipes don't help bottom end torque.
I'm partial to Woods Cams but you can probably find what you're looking for with other manufacturers. Here's a link to a few dyno sheets. Scroll down to 96".
For your weight and the two up thing, another vote for the Andrews 48.
Plenty of torque from down low. Easy to tune, well priced. Had a set in an FLD.
The SE255 as a take-out cam from the CVO models is usually cheap too and gives a good account of itself down low (nothing up top), they came in my Slim S.
Your pipe isn't helping you.

That Slim S is a 110" so the 255 would fall flat up top. They pull out stong in a 96"
