To be done correctly tins have to be pulled, the artist will then sand, pin stripe/air brush, and then clear coat. Don't want to go thru that, go with decals, easy removal down the road.
That sir, is the textbook definition of..... wrong.
I have had plenty of rides pinstriped without clear on them and never had a problem. And most of the times he was under the influence of something... RIP Pat Moore..

Tell em Bob. Pat was an excellent striper. Remember Dr. Rue? I believe he was at Cars and Concepts for a while.
I don't remember Dr. Rue But I thought Pat was one of the best that I ever seen and the striping was just the beginning of his talents. He was a little hard on his body

Pat was a great guy. He stayed with a friend of mine ( Jack Barbera ) for a time way back when.
If you lived closer, I would recommend my wife's cousin....the dude is rock solid and I have had a few things done...would not hesitate to use him again...
Reminds me of Dave Davies (70's -80's in upstate NY)...back in the day he was one of the best! Had a couple of vehicles striped by him, a Corvette, and a Chevy Blazer... he was great!! Saw his son at a rally a couple of years ago and it just was not the same, good, but not like his dad. It was ironic that the artist I met is now known as one of the best ( unknown to me)....should have done it right there and be done, instead making an appointment. Thanks to y'all I do feel better about going forth with my design!
Probably a silly question, but if anyone is from the Chicago area...... who knows Brando?
When I was growing up in Deerfield Illinois..... you weren't SHEET, if your sheet wasn't pinstriped by Brando.
Lol, I guess that he's a fluttering wisp of history, now. Lol.
Brando is still in business he has striped my helmet and did my shop van for my bicycle shop I own. He also does contract work for HD striping the custom paint sets. The graphics are laid out by a computer but he does the pinstriping by hand. He also used to run the sign shop at great america. His son also did my logo for my business and got me all the digital images for cards sign etc.
