Default how to remove the dash panel on fat boy tank

I guess you call it a dash panel, the housing for your speedometer and key switch on the fat boy tank. can it be removed separately or does the whole tank need to come off? I'm trying to put in a new ignition switch plus want to run some wiring.

If its like mine, just remove the half inch acorn nut in the center and it will lift right up.

I think they have all been put on thatway for a very long time. So it should be a fairly simple job.

I'm trying to remove my Titan Roadrunner's dash because my digital speedo/tach power went out. I need to raise the tank but have never done this before & need help. Is it just the front tank bolt/axle?

Can you possibly get something under the head of the bolt to give it upward pressure while loosening the bolt? Maybe the piece that it's connect to is spinning.

I think I got it figured somewhat figured out. I wonder if my Roadrunner is missing something. Can't see dash removal THIS difficult from the factory.

Question

Its a loose connection. Went for a ride yesterday, hit a bump & speeding/tach started working again. Loose connection. Only anchor I see is the axle bolt near the triple tree. Can't believe this is the only retention point on the tank?
