The manual I ordered is in. So I will be chasing wires either tonight when I get home or tomorrow. Always so much fun.

Ok, picked up my manual Friday night and figured out it's the accessories fuse that's blowing. Took a 12 pack of Miller Lite to the service guys at my favorite dealership to discuss the issue. They all agreed a wire is grounded or pinched or something under the rear fender. Got home and me and the oldest boy jacked her up and started disassembling to take the rear fender off and do some investigative work. After removing the left saddlebag, Tyler said, uh Dad, come look. The rear tire is worn bigger than **** along the tread/side wall edge break. We think it's rubbing on the fender because the clearance is so little on that side. Put her back together and call the dealership the next (Saturday) morning since I have only had it 3 weeks. I don't want to ride this thing another mile because I have gone down due to tire issues before. The dealership is about 50 miles away from my house. They say they can come get it Tuesday, they are closed Mondays and have a skeleton crew on Sundays. I ask them if I can just bring it in and they say sure. Load it in my truck and when I get there about 15 people converge. They get it unloaded, the GM and sales manager are apologizing. I love this dealership. I walk through the scenario of events with the service manager while three or four techs are checking it out. Initial diagnosis: It's a wider than stock rear tire, it's not the fender rubbing, it's a bolt for the saddle bag and it looks like some wires under there are "all jacked up". They will dig into it and get back with me, so I am sure by Tuesday or Wednesday I will hear something, and from the way they acted they recognize it's their issue. Won't be able to get back down there until next weekend, although I am supposed to go out of town on the RGU with the wifey so we will see. There is a reason I go to this dealership instead of three others that are closer. I'll update once I hear something.

Man sounds you may have found the culprit and hopefully the dealership takes care of you. Some dealerships are great at customer service. And sounds like your preferred dealership may be one of those.

Will be picking the bike up either today or Saturday, whenever I can get out of the salt mines in time to get down there. It was actually done on Tuesday. Would have been done last week, but I was going out of town on my RGU so told the dealer not to rush it if other stuff came up, it's nice to be able to have a second bike.

The diagnosis:
  1. The fuse was blowing because whoever installed the tombstone tailight did a half *** job and just balled up the excess wires, something got rubbed or frayed and shorted out. New harness ordered/installed and wiring done properly.
  2. The tire rub was because it was a fat rear tire and the clearance was not enough for the bolts holding the quick detach hardware. New tire ordered, I assumed back to stock size but forgot to ask, I really don't care as long as it doesn't have, nor will there be another groove in the sidewall.
  3. No charge to me, and the service manager made it sound like they were going to detail the bike bacause he said if I could wait a day or so to pick it up they would get it cleaned up really nice for me.

I love this dealership, which is why I drive a half hour to 45 minutes out of my way to use them instead of the two that are closer. Can't wait to get it back this weekend.

Picked her up last night and have about 150 miles on it now with no issues. I love this bike. Walked in, they handed me the keys and said sorry for the issue, ride safe!!!

Some dealers know how to keep customers, other dealers know how to drive them away.
