Default Front brake issue

I took the ole lady's slim (2015) out the other day for a much needed ride and immediately noticed that the front brake lever is much stiffer and travels only a small distance (maybe not even 1/4 inch) compared to my 16 RG, which is my "normal"

The front brake still works but its not a comfortable feeling when using it and I am not sure I would be confident if I had to ever grab a handful.

Any ideas on what is going on here ???

my "new" FatBoy (used 2014) is the exact same way. I don't like it either.

Due to a difference in riding frequency/service interval- your pads may be worn more than hers and also there may be more air in your lines than hers.
