When its above 100 degrees out and my 2000 heritage softail reaches riding temp, bike starts cutting out and loses power, speedo goes to zero, gas gauge goes to e, odometer flashes or goes blank. Replaced relay fuse and pin connectors and didnt stop the problem. When bike is cool and the temp is lower it runs like new. Being the gauges are acting weired im thinking its electrical, or would my coil over heating cause this. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
I would say it's under the seat, but I don't have a service manual for your bike. You should invest in the Harley Davidson Service Manual for your bike if you plan on DIY repair and maintenance.

I suspect you may have a problem with the voltage regulator. Possibly an intermittent thermal problem.
An overheating coil shouldn't cause the electrical system to glitch like that.
thanks nhrider1, like i stated earlier this crap is only happening when the bike gets to full riding temp, it doesnt die will idle just fine but as soon i roll on throttle bike is like cylinders are not hitting and gauges stop working. somethings going bad, overheating, or electrical connection is bad. im puzzled.
Voltage reg.'s a cheap fix. But was told by the service rep at the dealership that they can't be tested. Sometimes codes miss it altogether.
Had mine go on a 2012 sporty and since replaced, those issues that were something close to what you've stated have all been solved.
