Default Softail slim paint

About to purchase a 12 slim the only thing I'm not a fan of is the denim black paint. Other than that it is a sweet ride. Wondering if anybody knows a rough estimate to get the tank an fenders repainted, either vivid black or a midnight blue.

Depends on the shop, how much prep is involved and if you remove the tank and tins yourself or if they do.
I just charged a guy $1100 to do a tank and fenders in Big Blue Pearl.
Edit: I do paint and body work on the side, my overhead is low and my labor rate is lower than bigger shops. Most shops would charge you $1200 to 1500 for big blue pearl and that's with minimal prep work. Black would be less cost as it's only two stage.

I just saw that you are from Spring Hill, I am in La Vergne. Are you the guy that works at the fire station on Waldron I was talking with on one of the threads? If so send me a PM. I was going to stop by one day but forgot your name.

Why don't you just keep on looking for a vivid black bike. They made 'em by the thousands you know. Lot less trouble than having the tins repainted.

A cheap option is to wet sand and buff the denim paint. It will come out just like the Vivid Black. Wet sand with 1500, 2000, 2500 and then buff. You will never know the difference. Plus you can always buff scratches out instead of being stuck with them like the denim paints.
Here is a guy that did it.

If you are going to go through the trouble of repainting why not go with a color nobody else has? Make it original. If you are set on vivid black just keep looking
