Hey guys , I have a 2007 FXST , and I'm looking to put a Springer front end on it . I've seen a few for sale ( OEM Harley )and have noticed that when you look at it directly from the front on some of them the wheel/ brake assy / fender is not centered to the forks - ususally off to the left ( front view ) .
Is this normal , or is something wrong ??
Also will a front from a '99 fit the frame of an '07 ???

All OEM FX springers are offset like that...don't bother looking for one that isn't.
A 99 will fit a 07 but you will have do some mods if you want the fork lock to work.

That is a lot of offset. Obviously, you would think the forks are centered to the frame. Is the picture as shown with the bars turned slightly make it look more then it really is? My Softail if pretty centered in the front but appears a little off in the back but not by much.
what matters is that the wheel is centered between the forks. Which in that picture it seems as it does.
There's an illusion factor trickin the eye there due to the spacer causing a void that doesn't exist on the opposite side, where as the brake assembly covering what otherwise look the same as on the right if the break wasn't installed.
I put oem harley springer forks on my 05 FX. Bolted right up. I bought a set off of a springer CVO.
I'm super happy. I did it maybe 4-5 years ago. no issues.
Lets see:
Forks
New upper and lower fork bearings
New front axle
New front brake caliper
New headlight
New bars
It was spendy, but worth it.
I was a fool and bought all DNA stuff before the oem harley. What a pissing waste of money.
I still run no front fender, I keep thinking I'll put it on one day, but I love it so much without!
That is crazy...I never noticed that on mine until I looked yesterday. I guess it's not as noticeable on mine with the wider bones tire. It's really noticeable in the image you posted. Can I type some version of "notice" once again in this post...

Ha ha Pat That springer is wall art in the garage till this day. I keep threatening myself to hard tail the Sportster and throw it on it. Just never got around to it. Again thanks for the gift. G.
I've heard non HD springers are junk (budget ones) an to only use HD stuff. There was a springer front end on craigslist here complete forks, wheel, brake, rotor, headlight, risers an handle bars for a mere $4K.
