Smile Yikes

Had a close one to share today. Excited cause I'm able to share. Having spectacular weather here in Ak and was out on my Crossbones doing some errands this afternoon. Came upon a pickup pulling a trailer with a wrecked pickup on it. Going real slow but I was turning and stayed behind though he was trying to signal me to pass. Well he turns right with no brake lights or signals which should have been enough warning to me and it was my turn also. He's still going slow after the turn, there was no traffic coming, there's a double yellow, I decide to pass anyway. Bad choice on my part. He decides to turn left with no lights still, into an overgrown driveway I never see anyone on, cause it's just a few blocks from my house. Well I just replaced the rotor and brake pads because I bent the original brake disc putting on a new tire a few weeks ago and the directions say use lightly for the first 200 miles. That is unless you have an emergency. I did. Brake works well, tire might have a few flat spots. I know you're not suppose to lock them up but I did on the rear but not on the front. Been taught if you lock them keep them that way but looking at the skids I released three times. Was not far enough over to cause a high side. Made it and came home and had an Iced tea. Life is good

Any ride you walked away from is a good ride. Congrats on the successful brake test.

When you ride a motorcycle you have to remember that everyone else on the road IS trying to kill you. Don't help them.
