Default brake light issue

2013 FLHTCU - Just in note in advance, EVERYTHING has been working perfectly fine up until now. The run/turn/brake controller has been on the bike for 6 months now.
Went on my first ride in months (hand surgery), this issue came up and it's got me completely baffled. Started like this; right turn signal would do this really dim blink (front and rear), as well as on the console. Figured out what that issue is. tracked it down to the kuryakyn run/turn/brake controller. So I removed it, plugged everything back stock and the blinkers work perfectly. Nothing on the console, no weird intermittent weak blinking, etc. BUT now my brake lights aren't working correctly. The lights are bright (like if you used the brakes), but if you do use them, they get dim (running mode). So somehow they've magically reversed themselves. Oddly enough, now the rear brake pedal doesn't activate them at all. I'm at a loss. Never seen this before and honestly, didn't think it was even possible. Removing the controller shouldn't affect the brake lights like that. And given they are flipped it's pretty unsafe to drive. I'd rather not have some cager not paying attention and slam into me. Bad enough they do that as is, no need to encourage it. Anyway, any ideas would be greatly appreciated since I promised the wife a day out tomorrow and she's been VERY much looking forward to it lol

Okay, everybody has their one "dumbass" moment. Just realized what I was doing. I'm sure some of you old timers have guessed by now. Stupid me was testing the light by depressing the switch by hand. As to quote my grandfather... "bet you feel like the rear end of a donkey right about now.". That was grandpa for 'think dumbass' lol Anyway, glad I got it figured out, just need to put it all back together for the morning. And yes, I remembered to shim it lol

Sometimes you just have to talk it through and the answer comes to you. Glad you were able to solve it.

lol went back out to the garage, cracked a beer, turned on the tunes and monkeyed around with other stuff. After about 15 minutes it was like somebody smacked me in the back of the head...doh! lol Ya, just one of those days.
