Default Battery

With limited space in softail battery box, what are most people going with for replacement batteries? Anyone use the ones with extra set of terminals for hooking Battery Tender pigtail?

I just purchased a Deka ETX20L. They're the same company that manufacture and supply Harley with the HD stamped batteries at a much better price.

ETX20L replaces HD part #65989-97C it has top and side terminals.

Based on all the previous battery threads, most of us are replacing our battery with the standard AGM battery with two posts. I'm not sure why you would need extra terminals for a tender pigtail.

Walmart's AGM has worked fine for me for 3 years. Was about $80 then..Two Harley's lasted almost 10 year. 3 on the Walmart and still working. My tender is clamped with same bolt as main. No problems. However, on mine just like Harley's battery, I tend to have to tighten the bolt since my seat as a non OEM does not have a battery snugger on it.

This is what I use. It's shorter than OEM batteries, so you have more room for Power commanders, grip ace controllers, or whatever you have stuffed under your seat. I've had the current one in the bike for 3.5 years now. Works like a charm.

Thanks for those, on the Deuce, as I assume on other softails the stock battery is a pretty tight fit. Not so much in height as in l x w. I thought there might be some options with a little more room but haven't really found any.

Looks like the Deka or Wally battery runs in mid $90s. That about right?
