Hi guys, looking at picking up my first Harley, zoned in on the breakout, love the look. I found one for close to 10k, it's a 2013 with v/h pipes, screaming eagle intake. But the bad is it has 40k miles. I don't know much about the longevity of a 103 motor so I was hoping you guys could help me out? Is a 40k mile Harley worth over 10k with what's listed?
As long as it's been maintained it should be fine. But I imagine there are plenty of garage queens available for not much more if you're patient and look around a bit.
The motor will go for a long time. Its the other stuff that wears out an needs replacement that can cost you....Tires, brakes, bearings, clutch and drivetrain, suspension, finish....
10K does sound a bit low if its in good shape, if well maintained and clean I could see it fetching in the $12,000ish range realistically. Hopefully the modifications were done well.
3 years old...40k miles...$10k. If the paint looks good, no chips or scratches, it looks okay on paper. I'd want to take it to a dealer or indie shop and have them look at it, if I could.
Did you know they get same mileage as other Harleys with 103?
My bikes have more. Does not seem a steel to me.
All a matter of opinion there.. Personally, I would ride my breakout even if it got less than 30 mpg than a bagger. It's bike I would want to ride, assuming the OP wanted the same type of bike.

This will be money well spent. Financed used bike with H-D inspection as well. So long as the techs know their stuff.
