It's a aspt (assembled from parts bike). The delkron name is because the case of the motor is a delkron (aftermarket). Everything on this is pretty much aftermarket. I wouldn't be scared of it for 2 grand. This should not fetch regular comparable bike money. It honestly doesn't even look that well put together.....meaning expect to go through it and make **** right

Yeah, I messaged the guy today and told him I was going to pass. Really wish I had the kind of money to just buy one, but as a married firefighter living on a single income, it takes some wheelin and dealin for me to get what I get. Talking to a guy about a 2006 Street Bob right now, but not sure if anything is going to come of it.

Don't give up and don't rush in.

There are good deals out there on good bikes, just takes some time an effort...

Good luck....

I would never buy that bike. Its a "buyers" market right now, literally 1000's of bikes out there for sale. My best advice is to take your time, get a list of things you prefer on your bike and wait for the right one to come along just for you. The right bike will speak to you, trust me on that one.

Very smart decision.
As mentioned, there's plenty of quality original used Harley's out there, take your time and find the right one for you.

I have a 99 fatboy an I'm an evo motor fan. IF you can find a clean one they are great bikes. I paid $5K for mine with 17K on it an it was very clean, only change made was V&H exhaust an the solid wheels were replaced with spokes when he got new tires.

There were two things in your original post that to me are reasons for concern;

1) The seller only had the bike for 3 months.

I always question anybody selling something that they've only had for 3 months.
Sure it's possible for someone to buy something and then just not like it, however apparently the seller was already a bike rider so they knew what they were getting.

2) The reason for selling is "it's too loud".

Well it's no louder now than when the seller bought it.
Also, aftermarket pipes aren't than expensive and if the engine was original (which you now know it's not) a more quite stock exhaust for a 2000 Harley should be available at most decent "swap meets" for less than $100.

To the OP; I commend you for your wisdom in reaching out to us here before you pull the trigger.
Obviously you had concerns as well, hence the reason you asked for advice.
I had an exhaust on my bike that I thought wasn't too loud.

After a few hundred kilometers, it was way too loud.

Finding an exhaust for a stock motor isn't going to be a problem at swap meet however, finding an exhaust that matches the engine isn't going to be that easy.

Yep, something is amiss.....

I had a 98 Fatboy with an Evo motor, change the cam bearings and they are pretty much bullet proof.

Look around for a 95-98 softail, they are out there and will run forever if you take care of them. I didn't catch your budget but 5 to 7 grand gets you in the ball park.
