Anyone purchase a raw steel Deluxe fender

Yep I have.
I bought a Custom Chrome one to put on my Slim - it was recommended to me as they're made of a better gauge steel than others and suffer from fewer imperfections. They also have nicely rolled edges instead of raw cut edges.
It cost me about £90 I think - part number 13251 - 'Front Fender for Heritage Softail Models (about $110 over there).
That part number is for the 'smooth' version, so it's got no pre-drilled holes for front, side or skirt trim, which is what I wanted as I wasn't sure if I wanted chrome trim or just a plain fender (I added trim in the end - just had to carefully measure and drill the mounting holes). They do one WITH the pre-drilled holes if you prefer.
Then there was the spray painting. I took it to a company near me who do a lot of Harley work. The job cost £250 and when I picked it up the painter came out to ask me where I got the fender as he was so impressed with it. Said its the best made/quality aftermarket fender he's seen.
Anyhoo, here's some pics...
This is the 'raw' fender before painting
And here's the finished version

I ordered it through one of the big European suppliers.
Try their website (http://www.customchrome.com) - they have an online catalogue of all their parts and a dealer locator.
Should be easy enough to find a local dealer who can order it for you.
