2 up deluxe mods
wife is going to be riding with me more now what are best upgrades on the deluxe for 2 up riding. She's already mentioned pass pillion needs to go and needs a back rest. What else have you guys done to make hike better for 2 up. Thanks.
The combination I ended up with in no particular order:
1) Progressive 422 RAPs HD
2) HD Signature Series seat
3) Leather Tour Pak with wide backrest
4) Road Zeppelin air cushion
5) Passenger foot boards
6) Under seat passenger pegs (allows for a change in leg positioning)
7) Tall re-curve type windshield to divert air higher (now have a Reckless faring with a re-curve windshield)
I don't think any one item improves the ride greatly however they all put together enhances it a lot.
My Wife used to say she had a 2 hours ***, that is after 2 hours of riding her *** is getting off.
After the upgrades she now states she has a 4 hour ***

First thing was adjusted the shocks. Then got the Deluxe passenger pillion and she uses a sheep skin on the seat. She says the sheep skin really helps.
I worked on armrests for her and got some HD foot boards and adjustable foot pegs. Hope this helps some, it's nice if the wife is comfy.
There should be some parts from old threads on here after this but, I'm not sure if this will all come out when I hit the Reply button,,,,here goes.
Arm rests for the better half was another thing that was on my list of wants. She is with me on most rides and I wanted her to be comfy. I got some Kuryakyn armrests and got the grinder out. Scary cutting them up as soon as I got them. I made up a bracket, had it powder coated and bolted my newly cut armrests to it. That setup slips onto the passenger backrest and a couple of pins and locks on each side holds it on. The pins are made out of 1/4"stainless bolts with holes for locks or retainer clips. I didn't want to have to use tools to get things on or off. My copilot now has her own coffee holder and arm rests. She says she didn't realize what she was missing.

_________________Another little project was the Kuryakyn adjustable passenger foot pegs. They didn't work with the true dual exhaust on the left side. I scratched my head quite a while and came up with a spacer idea. Back to my machinist friend with my idea to see if he could make it. He made it, and it works, great. I also had to file off one side of the adjusting lever ring, and bend it to lay flatter to the footrest leg. Then I started with a stainless bolt bent it and welded it to the side of the adjusting ring to pull it when it is in the front position and along side the exhaust. Then I did a bunch of filing and grinding to get it into a nice shape. The better half now has a couple of positions for her feet, on the pegs and on the foot boards. She likes it.
