Default heritage stalls

About once a tank fill my heritage stalls for awhile when approaching stops. It happens when I clutch slowing down. At the stop sign or light it starts up and idles like nothing happened. What's the deal?

My 2013 has done that a few times, not lately though.

What year bike? Carb or FI?

The ignition switches get gummed up and cause intermittent stalling...when it happens the lights go out as if the switch was shut off, which it was due to gummed up contacts.

Here is my thread on how to service your ignition switch.

Thanks Joe G. It's a 2008 with FI. Your message implied that you attached something but I couldn't find it. Where are those ignition switches? And if that's the problem, how come it starts up every time? Wouldn't the gumming make the restart a problem once and awhile?

I had a "similar" problem with my FI 08 Fatboy. Pull in the clutch at stop signs or traffic lights, stall. Start right back up though. I looked through the various forum threads and one suggestion was to clean or replace the idle air control valve. Deciding to start with the easiest, I removed the air intake and shot some carb cleaner in the throttle body a few times. That was two years ago and it's been fine ever since. I later read that carb cleaner was not the best thing to spray in there. I'm sure there's lots of suggestions if you search for "Idle Air Control Valve".
