Default Steering

02 heritage. Steering a little loose, was going to tighten, do I have to take handlebars off to get chrome cap off of the main nut? Doesn't seem to be enough clearance under the clamp to remove !! First time doing this so HELP!!!! I was just going to tighten the bearing nut. Or is this a job for Harley?

Yes, you have to remove the handlebars. Cap won't come off without them out of the way. I suggest a manual if you're going to be wrenching it yourself. It'll save a ton of $$ and headaches.

Im not sure if yours is the same...but the big chrome cover just spins off on my 08 Deluxe. No need to remove the bars or risers.
