I've also been running Shinkos on mine and will continue to run them. For the price they can not be beat. Traction is awesome but they are soft tires. I got about 5000-5500 miles on my rear when I changed it (replaced it with another Shinko), my front has about 8500 miles on it and I will replace it this winter.

Man thats a nice looking bike you have there. Like that color, with the black & chrome wheels. I have been thinking of possibly putting black walls with those wheels on. Would definitely change the look of my bike with that orange color. I also like the black bars. BTW - Do you use the 777HD (heavy duty sidewalls)?

I have been running Shinkos on all my bikes for a few years now. Pretty grippy and can't beat the price. They don't last as long maybe, but that is a trade off when you want more traction anyway. I switched back to black walls and am running their 230 tourmaster now. I like it even more than the 777 so far. but I may switch to a 240/270 combo for that Vintage firestone look.

Also, simple and cheap SOS pads work great on the whitewalls.

Thanks man. I liked the Suede Green back in 02 when we bought it but the color has really grown on me so much more since I put the wheels on it. The black and chrome wheels made the color appear more rich and vibrant. I like the look of black wall tires with the black powder coated rims on the wheels. I'm on my second Shinko Podium rear tire, it handles the weight of my Heritage great. Even not being a heavy duty sidewall. I rarely ride two up or pack it down heavy though.

I used to run Shinkos on a KLR 650. No complaints. I believe they used to be Yokohama brand.
