Hey there folks! Just new to the forum. I have a 03 fat boy, I run a Avon venom 150 rear tire on my front end with the rotation to the rear.Something an old boy suggested about 7yrs back, I have gone through 5 tires on the *** end since and hardly no wear on the front tire. Anyone else ever run a rear tire backwards on the front end of their bike? Thnx

Hey Keith, Welcome to the insanity! I apologize but I can't wrap my mind around what you are attempting to try..To clarify, you want to swap front to rear and have the rear mounted onto the front with the tread going reverse direction of the current direction of travel? Maybe...that might work with older biased ply tires but many today are radial with distinct directional arrows stamped on the sidewalls. Do I got that right? Maybe someone else can chime in while I swill my cuppa jo.

He doesn't want to do it, he's doing it, so if this isn't a first post wind up maybe he's come across a cunning plan by the tyre companies to make us wear our tyres out quicker by fitting them in the direction of the arrow.
It may be wearing well, but most front tires do compared to rears. I can promise you that millions of dollars have been spent on r&d by tire companies and there is a reason that they are directional. Not sure about you but I wouldn't take a directional tire on a sports car and turn it the wrong way just because I heard it'll last longer. Food for thought.
