Default Ape hangars

I'm looking to throw big buffalo 1.50" apes on my 2013 fat boy lo. I will be using 3" big buffalo risers as well. The specs for these bars are width 41" center width 10" pullback 9.75" . I'm looking to go with the carlini cable kit as they make the black braided stainless . My question is should I go with the 16 " cable kit or the 18" cable kit to compensate for the pull back on the ape hangars . These cables are made to the specific order and I don't wanna come up short.

16" is tall I don't know if I would go 18" I have 14" that work great and don't look too tall on the bike.

He is asking about the cables.....if he should get extra length to compensate for the extra pull back of his bars.

Carlini (among others) use Barnett cables in their "kits". Save yourself some money and cut out the middle man, buy direct.
Personally I have never seen a cable kit that didn't have a mile of extra slack in the cables. Put the bars on, measure and then buy the proper lengths directly from the manufacturer. JMHO

Yup, this. It looks like crap when the cables are to long. Looks like your in NY so you shouldn't be in a huge rush like if it was mid summer. Get the bars and measure for your cables and you will know it will come out right. I just did my bars and did exactly that and my cables came out perfect length.

Get the bars and wire extensions, mock up the bars, measure for cables and order them. While waiting for the cables do the electrical and mount the bars and controls, really not much down time. Makes it a nice relaxing install.

I'm not sure if Barnett offers the "over stock length", but I got my cables from magnum shielding which you can order them by how many inches over stock. I left my stock bar on the stock risers, mounted my new risers and bar then just held the stock risers and bars as close to where they mount on the trees, and measured up to where the new controls were on the new bars. Ended up with 8" so I got 8" over stock and it all came out great. This is also assuming you still have the stock bar and cables on the bike.

thank you I will consider that. It's saying that my stock risers are 3" and the carlini bars run taller than described. So I was figuring I would be good with the 16's but got cold feet and wanted some input . I hate sending stuff back .

definitely not in a rush . I like that idea seeing that it is winter . Riding up to laconia in June so I want this thing looking legit . So your saying you can order these cables to ACTUAL length. If I got my bars and risers and mounted them do what u said and I would be able to order my cables exactly the way u said .

This is also JMO... 3" and taller risers are cool with drag bars and beach bars but just don't look right with apes. I got a set of 1.5" tall risers and trimmed them down as low as possible ( think I took about .325" off). Taller bars need shorter risers IMO.
If you run 16" bars it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace the riser bushings with a good poly set from HD or Alloy Art (I think they are one in the same)

I appreciate that but..... I'm running a Nacelle on the bike and I need to maintain the stock height so the 2 halves of the Nacelle clip together . I won't be able to run the riser cover but I'm not to worried about that . I'm also definitely not married to it so if it doesn't work out I won't be disappointed. I've been doing a lot of research and seen a soft tail heritage with the same set up and passing lamps that I have and I definitely fell in love with the look . I originally was gonna go with the carlini gangster apes but decided to maintain the classic look .
