Leather is more work yes .. But I have 2 Lepera seats they look Great but like mentioned above they are very uncomfortable. If you can put Gel in or get it reworked you may be happy, but anything more than 50 miles on a stock seat ain't going to happen for me .

I've been considering the LePera Cherokee, eventually, for my Breakout. I'm interested in your take, Captain, on why the brand seems to be so uncomfortable. Are they shooting for style at the expense of comfort ? I'm just thinking there has to be some rationale other than that they can't make a seat. LePera has been around awhile.
I bought a take-off, never-used stock FLS seat off eBay because I want it recovered in leather with the exact same factory stitching. I am having trouble finding someone who can do it - most places say they can, but that it won't have that lip on the back if the seat (which I guess is hard to do).
I went to a respected local place who told me know because they'd have to place an order for two entire sides of hide, as the seat has two different types of "grain" on the vinyl. They also said they couldn't do the lip, either.
If anyone knows of a good place I could send the seat to, please let me know.

Thanx.
My opinion I would say yes to this, the seats are well made but I can not put many miles on these seats ..
I been tossing around the idea of modifying the seat on my Slim. I have debated leather for a custom look. Now you guys really got me thinking. Are they any negatives to leather?
For some there might be but for me, no. Every so often, I have some leather treatment that I put on my seat and it keeps it looking great. Granted leather will show wear marks over years of continued use but that doesn't bother me. When my seat has gotten wet, the water just beads up and rolls off. I've had my Corbin seat for around 10 - 11 years and other than basic wear marks, it's worked great for me in heat and cold. The main thing is, just take care of it and it will take care of you.

Thanx again bro. I'm sooo tempted. There is a Canadian Dealer for LePera now and the prices are real good. Its $C 650 for a diamond Cherokee so $US 485, to my door. Still, I wanna be able to sit on the thing .
