Back to your SS-ABS . . . I've been 'seriously' considering one for my new Slim too, which also has ABS, but I haven't been able to locate much specific information on the ABS-model on-line. No description about how it differs from the non-ABS version, no installation instructions for it posted anywhere (not even on the official SS website!), and no YouTube videos that I could find either. So yeah, I'll be real anxious to hear your views on it and how smooth the install goes for you.
My 25-06 is a Ruger M77 as well, so is my 7mm mag. 25-06 is my favorite rifle caliber too, favorite handgun caliber is 10mm.
The difference in ABS and non ABS Shotgun Shocks is the compressor. I am far from an expert but I do know that is the difference. The ABS model compressor mounts in front of the crossmember that the shocks bolt to, not sure exactly where the non ABS compressor mounts.
If you have any questions call them, JD and Jessica are both very nice and down to earth. They answered all my questions and even sent me a text of a bike they were working on showing where the ABS compressor mounted. If you decide to purchase ask for the forum discount.

If you are referring to the one on my bike I bought it from my local HD dealer. It was Chrome, had it powdercoated gloss black.

1) "Favorite handgun is a 10mm" . . . It would appear that we have similar tastes . . . a Colt Delta Gold Cup 10mm here.

2) "The difference in ABS and non ABS Shotgun Shocks is the compressor" . . .
Righto! But its rumored that the type and size of the compressor may have been reduced to accommodate the change in location. That, and the installation differences are the kinds of things that would be nice to know for certain.

3) "If you have any questions call them, JD and Jessica are both very nice and down to earth" . . . Will do!

4) "If you decide to purchase, ask for the forum discount" . . . XLNT! Thanks for the heads-up, and again, good luck with it!

Not sure how the compressor size compares to the non abs compressor but here is a pic of how it mounts. Basically it mounts to an L bracket attached to the left front shock mount bolt. The compressor takes up all available space between the crossmember and the crankcase. Not that hard to install IMO

Non-ABS compressor mounted above the transmission. You would have to remove the rear tire and splash guard to get to it. That is the new style ABS compressor. It outputs 300psi. The old ones would only output 200psi. Much better compressor and I would say much easier to install than the Non-ABS bikes. I wouldn't be surprised if they started using this new compressor and installation for all ABS/Non-ABS models.

I'm waiting to hear "Why did I wait this long" from you. lol

Suppose that compressor would drive an airhorn?

i am also debating about going to an air ride system. the issue i think about is how the air ride effects the drive belt. when you lower the bike the belt gets tighter. i worry about this causing problems later on with ruining belts.
