Default 2004 Harley softail springer
I have a aftermarket gas gauge and I noticed there's a small hole with wires running into the gas tank. Dose that hole go into the fuel or is that not connected to the gas tank? I'm asking because when I was cleaning my bike I noticed there was a little water deposit sitting around the hole and I want to make sure that the water didn't get into my fuel and damage my motor

The wires run through that tube through the bottom of the tank where they hook into the wire harness. Totally sealed.
