If I cannot reliably upshift my CVO Springer at high RPM, well, it's not a fast bike. I've got the original clutch and I've substituted the standard chrome over steel shift arm to replace the original forged aluminum arm.
This is physiologically a high stress situation. Last weekend, I tried to regain composure and tugged and tugged on the shift arm and released the clutch only to see the transmission remained in the previous gear.
I'd like to think it's only the 1 to 2 shift but it might also involve the 2 to 3 shift. I ultimately pull the clutch and coast down.
Thanks, these bikes have the hydraulic clutch and I've replaced the complete master cylinder piston kit about two years ago. I'll look to see if there's any adjustment associated with this hardware.
